JERUSALEM – Israel has advised its citizens to avoid travel to Turkey following massive protests there against a deadly Israeli military raid on an aid flotilla bound for the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The Monday advisory instructs Israelis already in Turkey to keep a low profile and avoid crowded downtown areas.
At least 10 people were killed when Israeli commandos halted the flotilla, which was unofficially sponsored by Turkey.
Turkey is just an hour flight away and is a popular holiday destination for Israelis.
